Seetag/Day at Sea 12 auf der/on QUEEN VICTORIA

Der letzte Seetag: immer noch negativ. Komisch: wo sind wir? Das System ist ausgefallen. Wir sind 0° Länge/0° Breite. In Afrika. Später funktioniert es wieder. Wir müssen unsere Koffer fertigmachen.



The last day at sea: still negative. Funny, where are we? The system has failed, and we are 0° longitude/0° latitude. In Africa, it works again later. We have to get our suitcases ready.

Most of the time is spent in the Chart Room on the last day. What doesn't fit is made to work: Cappuccino Freddo but lactose-free... but please with cream... as I said: as long as the whipped cream is in stock, there's nothing to complain about. Also, always very lovely: Richard.



Auch den letzten Tag verbringen die meiste Zeit im Chart Room. Was nicht passt wird passend gemacht: Cappuccino Freddo lactosefrei... aber bitte mit Sahne... wie gesagt: solange die Schlagsahne vorrätig ist, gibt es nichts zu meckern. Auch immer sehr nett: Richard.





Rohrbruch auch auf der QUEEN VICTORIA. Es wird immer nasser hier im Zulauf zum Britannia-Restaurant. Eben Made in Italy! Wir genießen das schöne Wetter am letzten Tag. Im früheren Schulungsraum für IT-Anwendungen, in der wir die QUEEN VICTORIA 2008 als U-Boot in einer Autowaschanlage erlebt haben, wird heute als Treffpunkt für die Crew genutzt. Und so sehen also die Canapés für die Suitengäste aus.

The former training room for IT applications, in which we experienced the QUEEN VICTORIA 2008 as a submarine in a car wash, is now used as a meeting place for the crew. Breakfast: I get my pitahaya. Delicious. And again black pudding.



Frühstück: ich bekomme meine Pitahaya. Lecker. Und nochmals Black Pudding.



Today I can see our German-speaking guest service, Regine, without a mask. She spontaneously arranged lunch for us with the German-speaking guests: 41 German-speaking guests were on board. I saw the guest service for Spanish. Unfortunately today. Otherwise, I would have reactivated my Spanish skills on my own just to be looked after by him. On the other hand, we now had Nemad, who takes care of Bruno's concerns. What is it all about??? What are they doing there??? The next evening school class I'm going to book is lip reading!!!



Heute habe ich die unsere deutschsprachige Gästebetreuung Regine ohne Maske zu sehen. Sie hat ja für uns spontan das gemeinsame Mittagessen mit den deutschsprachigen Gästen arrangiert: 41 deutschsprachige sind an Bord. Die Gästebetreuung habe ich noch für Spanisch gesehen. Leider erst heute. Sonst hätte ich alleine nur nochmals meine Spanisch-Kenntnisse reaktiviert, nur um von ihm betreut zu werden. Andererseits hatten wir ja jetzt Nemad, der sich um Brunos Anliegen kümmert. Ich frage mich ja, worum es da wohl geht??? Was machen die beiden da??? Den nächsten VHS-Kurs, den ich buchen werde, ist Lippenlesen!!!

One last time to Carlos Bonell. With "Danny Boy" and "Classical Gas" meets my taste. Too bad he doesn't offer to stream, only CDs. There is no longer a CD player in my car.



Ein letztes Mal zu Carlos Bonell. Mit "Danny Boy" und "Classical Gas" trifft er voll meinen Geschmack. Schade, dass er kein Streaming anbietet, sondern nur CDs. In meinem Auto gibt es keinen CD-Player mehr.







There is even an amateur choir on board. I only knew that from Princess so far. I had already sung along twice: ISLAND PRINCESS 2013 and DIAMOND PRINCESS 2016. I had noticed that, but the rehearsals always took place somehow right after lunch: with a full stomach... I need my afternoon rest... However, if I had known that the choir was conducted by true professionals: Scott (yesterday the hero from Top Hat) and Amy (also the singer of the shows), I would have gladly taken part. The pieces were to my liking: "Hello Dolly" from the musical of the same name... they were already at the giant staircase... and they just stopped..., "One" from "A Chorus Line".. .I would also have liked a top hat and tails... and like in the musical, the end in glittering gold..., "Lean on Me" by Bill Whiters, "My Favorite Things" from the musical "Sound of Music" - I could have sung along right away because we sang it back then too, "You'll never walk alone" from the musical "Carousel", and by Borussia Dortmund, Germany, and FC Liverpool, Gerry and the Pacemakers, and by the BBC Last Night of the Proms ... OK... then the mood changed... GLEE for seniors (in no way meant to be derogatory - I loved GLEE because I found the mix so great): "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen. Lastly, "Thank you for the Music" by ABBA - everyone stood there and sang along. They should have dimmed the lights and handed out sparklers, fire ointment, and fire extinguishers. It was a great atmosphere. I chatted a bit with Scott and Amy afterward. The same evening we see her on stage again for her farewell show. After the trip, the troupe is exchanged.



Es gibt sogar einen Laien-Chor an Bord. Ich kannte das bisher nur von Princess. Da hatte ich bereits schon zwei Mal mitgesungen: ISLAND PRINCESS 2013 und DIAMOND PRINCESS 2016. Ich hatte das wahrgenommen, aber die Proben fanden immer irgendwie so direkt im Anschluss am Mittagessen statt: mit vollem Magen... Da brauche ich meine Mittagsruhe... Wenn ich allerdings gewusst, dass hier Vollprofis den Chorleiten: Scott (gestern noch der Held aus Top Hat) und Amy (ebenfalls Sängerin der Shows), dann hätte ich doch gerne mitgemacht. Die Stücke waren voll nach meinem Geschmack: "Hello Dolly" aus dem gleichnamigen Musical... da waren sie schon an der großen Treppe... und sie bleiben einfach stehen..., "One" aus "A Chorus Line"... da hätte mir auch einen Zylinder und die Fracks gewünscht... und so wie im Musical den Schluss in glitzerndem Gold..., "Lean on Me" von Bill Whiters, "My Favorite Things" aus dem Musical "Sound of Music" - da hätte ich sofort selbst mitsingen können, weil wir es damals ja auch gesungen haben, "You'll never walk alone" aus dem Musical "Carousel", und von Borussia Dortmund und FC Liverpool, Gerry and the Pacemakers, und von den BBC Last Night of the Proms... OK... dann wechselte die Stimmung... GLEE für Senioren (keinesfalls abschätzig gemeint - ich habe GLEE geliebt, weil ich eben die Mischung so toll fand): "Crazy little Thing called Love" von Queen. Last not least "Thank you for the Music" von ABBA - da standen aber alle und haben mitgesungen. Sie hätten noch das Licht dimmen sollen und dann Wunderkerzen, Brandsalbe und Feuerlöscher verteilen sollen. War wirklich eine tolle Stimmung. Ich habe mich danach noch ein wenig mit Scott und Amy unterhalten. Am gleichen Abend sehen wir sie auf der Bühne wieder zu ihrer Abschiedsshow. Nach der Reise wird die Truppe ausgetauscht.

Sojan mit Brille. Ich hätte ihn fast nicht wiedererkannt. Ob die einen Optiker an Bord haben? Aber wie machen die so etwas eigentlich? Sie sind ja monatelang nicht zu Hause. Und sie fahren ja nicht immer Runden, wie MSC oder Royal Caribbean oder Costa oder NCL, dass sie immer wieder die gleichen Häfen im Wochenrhytmus anfahren.



Sojan with glasses. I almost didn't recognize him. Do they have an optician on board? But how do they do that? Your last came home a few months ago. And they only sometimes do rounds, like MSC or Royal Caribbean or Costa or NCL, that they always call at the same ports weekly.

In the Lido, I happen to meet the team again; it's their fault that I'm getting poorer and poorer because they cook so deliciously that I'm happy to spend the 25 USD for the Lido Alternative Dining. So I have to take a picture of Navin, Arnel, Samson, Krishna, and unfortunately, one whose name tag reflected so unhappily that I can no longer recognize anything. I have to say thank you for the fantastic Nordlys and Corriander menu they whipped up for us.



Im Lido treffe ich zufällig das Team wieder, das Schuld ist, dass ich immer ärmer werde, weil die so lecker kochen, dass ich gerne die 25 USD für das Lido Alternative Dining ausgebe. So muss ich mal ein Bild von Navin, Arnel, Samson, Krishna und leider einem, dessen Namensschild so unglücklich reflektierte, dass ich nichts mehr erkennen kann. Ich muss mich einfach für das tolle Nordlys und Corriander-Menü bedanken, das sie für uns gezaubert haben.



For the last dinner in the Britannia restaurant. We have fixed dinner times, and you don't stay away on the previous evening. We will hand over the envelopes again tonight. Zum letzten Abendessen im Britannia-Restaurant. Wir haben feste Tischzeit und da bleibt man nicht am letzten Abend weg. Heute Abend werden nochmals die Briefumschläge überreicht. Wir zahlen die Servicegelder und wir geben immer etwas zusätzlich, wenn die Leistung stimmt. Zwischendurch geben wir bei langen Fahrten auch schon etwas, um zu signalisieren: passt!

Danach geht es nochmals zur Show um nochmals Amy, Scott, Robin und die anderen auf der Bühne zu sein. Eine Hommage an Sting.

The second half of the show is again performed by the Nordic Brothers. Highlights: Lady Gaga's "Always Remember Us This Way" from the movie "A Star is Born" and "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Elvis. But they make saying goodbye to QUEEN VICTORIA very difficult.



Die 2. Hälfte der Show bestreiten nochmals die Nordic Brothers. Die Höhepunkte: "Always remember us this Way" von Lady Gaga aus dem Film "A Star is Born" und "Can't help falling in Love" von Elvis. Sie machen einem aber das Abschiednehmen von der QUEEN VICTORIA sehr schwer.
