Zum letzten Mal zum Frühstück. Heute gibt es zum Abschluss ein echtes englisches Frühstück.



For breakfast one last time. Today we're having a proper English breakfast to finish things off.

We arrived at the terminal at 8:41 hrs. Arriving earlier would only have been possible if we had carried everything ourselves. Since we have to go to the airport immediately, we can't use the Bags and Go service this time.



Um 08:41 Uhr sind wir bereits im Terminal. Vorher wäre es nur gegangen, wenn wir alles selbst getragen hätten. Da wir gleich zum Flughafen müssen, können wir dieses Mal den Service von Bags and Go nicht in Anspruch nehmen.

Wir sind am neuen Terminal E - Helix. Es hat zwei Zugänge. Der Cruise Bus hält nur einmal zwischen den beiden Eingängen.



We are at the new Terminal E - Helix. It has two entrances. The cruise bus only stops once between the two entrances.

Eva is there on time as always. And she takes us to the airport.



Eva ist wie immer pünktlich da. Und bringt uns zum Flughafen.





Wir sind zum ersten Mal mit Iberia unterwegs. Etwas komisch ist das schon hier beim Check-In. Persönliche Gespräche mit anderen Mitarbeitern sind wichtiger als die Schlange abzuarbeiten.



This is our first time flying with Iberia. It's a bit strange here at check-in. Personal conversations with other employees seem to be more important than working through the queue.

At Malvon, empanadas are served as a second breakfast.

Der Flug ist wenig spektakulär. Sehr gut ist der XL-Sitz, den wir gekauft haben.



The flight itself was uneventful. The XL seat we bought was excellent.

It's 18°C in Madrid. On approach, we see the Riyadh Air Metropolitano stadium. There's also a soap shop here, which we visit.



In Madrid ist es 18 °C. Beim Anflug sehen wir das Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadion. Hier gibt es auch einen Seifenladen, den wir besuchen.

Mit der Metro fahren wir in die Stadt. Leider muss man sich eine Multikarte kaufen, die nicht rückerstattbar ist. Leider nicht wie in anderen Städten einfach mit der Kreditkarte.



We took the metro into the city. Unfortunately, you have to buy a special non-refundable multi ticket. It's not as easy as in other cities, where you can just use a credit card.

To top it all off, we wanted to have one last delicious meal: the Michelin Guide mentions the restaurant Casa de Comidas Restaurante – Rafa Zafra. It was a very good idea. The artichokes alone were worth the trip, even taking the metro.



Zum krönenden Abschluss möchten wir noch einmal gut essen: im Michelin-Führer erwähnt wird das Restaurant Casa de Comidas Restaurante – Rafa Zafra. Es war eine sehr gute Idee. Schon allein die Artischocken waren es, die Sache wert, mit der Metro den Aufwand auf sich zu nehmen.

Weiter geht es nach Frankfurt: Der Flug wird von Air Nostrum durchgeführt. Der Service ist so "schlecht": In der Economy Class beginnt der Verkaufsservice erst nach ca. zwei Stunden. Als sie vorbeikommen, fragen sie nach unseren bezahlten und vorbestellten Mahlzeiten. Die Flugbegleiter teilen uns mit, dass es bei Air Nostrum nicht angeboten wird. Ich soll alles neu kaufen und erstatten lassen. Ich war etwas über die Gleichgültigkeit verwundert. Mit Nachdruck haben wir zumindest eine Tasse Kaffee, Wasser und Kekse bekommen. Auf unser Geld warten wir heute noch. Und wir haben es jetzt der Kreditkartengesellschaft übergeben, die sich darum kümmert.



Next stop: Frankfurt. The flight, run by Air Nostrum, didn’t start in-flight service until about two hours after takeoff—even in economy class. When the attendants finally arrived, they asked about our pre-ordered meals. Then they told us Air Nostrum doesn't offer them, so we’d have to buy food again and request a refund. Their indifference was surprising. After being persistent, we got a cup of coffee, some water, and a few biscuits. We’re still waiting for our refund. Now, the credit card company is handling it.

When we land in Frankfurt, we have a parking position on the apron. I don't have a Germany-wide ticket. I'm curious how much the transfer to the terminal will cost.



Als wir in Frankfurt landen, haben wir eine Vorfeldposition. Ich habe kein Deutschland-Ticket. Ich bin mal gespannt, wie viel der Transfer zum Terminal kostet.



Back home, we're immediately tackling the next project: the heat pump. That means no more hot water and no more gas stove. So, to survive, we'll have to head straight to the swimming pool. The air fryer will serve as a replacement for the stove until the new induction cooktop is installed.



Zu Hause geht es direkt in das nächste Projekt: die Wärmepumpe. D.h. kein heißes Wasser und keinen Gasherd mehr. Also müssen wir zum Überleben direkt ins Schwimmbad gehen. Der Airfryer ersetzt den Herd, bis der neue Induktionsherd angeschlossen ist.





Mal gucken, ob ich jetzt noch ein passendes Verbindungsstück finde… Aber insgesamt war es wieder sehr schön.



Let's see if I can find a suitable connector now... But overall it was very nice again.
