They always cook so much congee for me that I have to counteract it a little. Two slices of watermelon are enough.



Die kochen immer so viel Congee für mich, dass ich ein wenig gegensteuern muss. Zwei Scheiben Wassermelonen reichen.

Nun muss ich wieder zu Derek Tedder und noch das Ende seiner Recherchen zum Tode von Diana mitbekommen.

Die Situation an Bord entspannt sich. Man darf sich wieder im Kings Court selbst bedienen.



The situation on board is relaxing. People are allowed to serve themselves again in the Kings Court.

The restaurant management is becoming increasingly shameless. They have seated us at the pillory table, but unfortunately, they have not seated us at the captain's table. Right in the middle: exactly when you come in from the main entrance. The only thing missing is the sign: that's what happens to a guest who always has something to complain about. On the other hand, the table has many other advantages too: we get to see the show that the maîtres at the front of the reception are putting on and we can make comments about all the guests who come in. So you don't always have to see the negative, but also the positive. There's goat's cheese tart again. I have to go to the dogs later: did they invite goats instead of dogs this time? I discovered my new favorite dish: up until now, I've always liked shepherd's or cottage pie with lamb or beef. Now I'm getting to know the version with duck. It's heavenly!!! If it weren't so high in calories, I would order it now in the morning, at lunch, in the evening, and at tea time. With Tichaona and Edsel, we have another excellent service team. Edsel looks familiar to me: he was one of the bellboys at boarding.



Die Restaurantleitung wird immer schamloser... nun haben sie uns an den Pranger-Tisch gesetzt, leider nicht an den Captain's Tisch. Genau in der Mitte: Genau, wenn man vom Haupteingang reinkommt. Fehlt nur noch das Schild: das passiert mit einem Gast, der immer nur etwas zu meckern hat. Andererseits der Tisch hat auch sehr viel andere Vorteile: die Show, die sich wiederum bei den Maîtres vorne am Empfang bekommen wir mit und wir können natürlich Kommentare zu allen Gästen abgeben, die reinkommen. Man muss also nicht immer nur das Negative sehen, sondern auch das Positive. Schon wieder gibt es Ziegenkäse-Tart. Ich muss nachher man zu den Hunden gehen: haben sie dieses Mal Ziegen statt Hunde geladen? Ich entdecke mein neues Lieblingsessen: bisher mochte ich ja immer Sheperd's bzw. Cottage Pie mit Lamm bzw. Rind. Nun lerne die Version mit Ente kennen. Das ist ja absolut himmlisch!!! Wenn es nicht so kalorienreich wäre, würde ich das jetzt morgens, mittags, abends und zur Tea Time bestellen. Mit Tichaona und Edsel bekommen wir wieder ein tolles Service-Team. Edsel kommt mir bekannt vor: er war einer der Pagen bei der Einschiffung.

Es geht wieder zur Sir Samuel's. Seit Tagen lacht mich diese Schokoladen-Haselnuss-Rolle an: ich muss sie zumindest mal probieren. Später am Nachmittag treffe ich auch den Kapitän und darf mit ihm ein Selfie machen.



It's off to Sir Samuel's again. This chocolate hazelnut roll has been tempting me for days: I must try it at least once. Later in the afternoon, I met the captain and was allowed to take a selfie with him.

I'll check out the "tea time" at Kings Court. It's OK, too. You can help yourself, and you don't have to wait forever.



Ich gucke mir mal die "Tea-Time" im Kings Court an. Ist auch ok. Nimmt man sich selbst und man muss nicht ewig warten.

Ich wollte eine Baranzahlung auf die nächste Kreuzfahrt machen, ohne dass ich schon fest buchen muss. Aber das gibt es nicht mehr. Daher liegt hier auch nichts aus. Schade. Dann werde ich halt bis zur QUEEN VICTORIA im Oktober warten. Dann sollte das 2027-er Programm hoffentlich raus sein. Aber ich lasse mir in Buchung reinschreiben: nur wenn es keine Ziegentart mehr gibt. Irgendwie sehen leere Regale doch armselig aus - oder? Kann man nicht irgendwas reinstellen - notfalls Toilettenpapier...



Without booking, I wanted to make a cash deposit for the next cruise. But that's no longer possible. So there's nothing here. What a pity. Then I'll wait until QUEEN VICTORIA in October. Hopefully, the 2027 program will be out by then. But I'll have it written into my booking: only if there's no more goat tart. Empty shelves look pathetic somehow - don't they? Can't you put anything on them - toilet paper if necessary...



Ich mag es ja nicht so, wenn ich zum Vegetarier "erzogen" werden soll: aber beide Suppen klingen so fleischlos für mich. Irgendwie entscheide ich mich für drei Vorspeisen, wobei ich die Pasta als Hauptgang will. Nur die kommt dann mit diesen fruchtigen Tomatensaucen, die ich nicht so mag... also gab es doch wieder ein Steak mit Pommes Frites. Beim Orangensorbet mit Schlagsahne ist dann meine Welt wieder in Ordnung.



I don't really like being "educated" to be a vegetarian, but both soups sound meatless to me. Somehow, I decided on three starters and wanted pasta as the main course. But it comes with this fruity tomato sauce, which I don't really like, so I had steak and chips again. My world was back to normal when I had the orange sorbet with whipped cream.

There are two half-shows tonight: one part by the Royal Singers and Dancers and one part by Zo Blow.

Im Queens Room spielt die Gruppe Iris mit "That's All Folk". Es lohnt sich auch hier zu bleiben. Ich wäre auch nach der Pause wiedergekommen. Nur stellte sich heraus, dass es eine Wiederholung war.

I go back up to The Verandah Bar and have a non-alcoholic cocktail. Although the menu says 8 USD, I am charged 11.50 USD. But they credit it back the next morning. The cocktail is good. I now have so much fresh ginger in me that I can't possibly get sick again until the end of the trip.



Ich gehe nochmals hoch in The Verandah Bar und nehme einen alkoholfreien Cocktail zu mir: obwohl 8 USD auf der Karte steht, werden mir 11,50 USD berechnet. Sie schreiben das aber direkt am nächsten Morgen gut. Der Cocktail ist gut: Ich habe jetzt soviel frischen Ingwer in mir: bis zum Ende der Reise kann ich keinesfalls mehr krank werden.

Ich bleibe auch noch einen Moment bei den Streicherinnen, die in der Carinthia Lounge auftreten. Eigentlich hätte ich ja gerne einen Frappée gehabt, aber ich habe keine Lust mehr das denen wieder erklären zu müssen. Ich bin ja im Oktober wieder auf der QUEEN VICTORIA. Ich zeige denen meinen Sticker von der QUEEN MARY 2 und erkläre denen, dass ich gerne alle Frappées nachholen möchte, die ich an Bord der QUEEN MARY 2 nicht bekommen habe. Ich nehme nur ein Glas Pepsi. Ich trinke ja auch die kleinen Flaschen Coca-Cola nicht aus. Also kann ich es auch die günstigere Alternative nehmen. Und was nicht so ganz verstehe: warum kann man nicht einfach meine Karte entgegen nehmen und die Cola ohne Diskussionen berechnen, statt mir jedes Mal zu erklären, dass ich nur einen Sticker für Heißgetränke hätte. Außerdem sieht man ja den Status auf der Karte. So ganz neu kann ich bei Cunard nicht sein. Ich bin bereits am Tag 6 an Bord. Die Carinthia Lounge und ich werden keine Freunde mehr. Ich werde mich mal erkundingen, ob sie 115V US, 230V UK oder 230V Euro-Stecker haben und meinen eigenen Mixer mitbringen und ihn Sir Samuel's für die Fahrt leihen.



I also stay momentarily with the string players performing in the Carinthia Lounge. I would have liked a frappée, but I don't feel like explaining it to them again. And I don't quite understand why they can't just take my card and charge me for the Coke without arguing instead of telling me every time that I only have a sticker for hot drinks. You can also see the status on the card. I can't be that new to Cunard. I'm already on board on day 6. The Carinthia Lounge and I are no longer friends. I will check to see if they have 115V US, 230V UK, or 230V Euro plugs, bring my mixer, and lend it to Sir Samuel's for the trip.



Wenn ich sowieso schon hier oben bin, dann kann ich auch mal zum "Mitternachtsbüffet" gehen.
