Um zum Gesamtresümee zu kommen:Irgendwie sind wir eher enttäuscht, als dass wir uns über diese Reise freuen. Die NORWEGIAN GEM 2007 nutzen wir zur Erholung von der QE2, weil wir wieder das erleben, was wir uns für die QE2 erhofft haben.
Unsere Erfahrungen sollen uns nicht davon abhalten, QE2 zu buchen. Sie ist etwas Besonderes und man sollte sie auf jeden Fall als echter Shiplover selbst erlebt haben.
Trotzdem sei an dieser Stelle die Kritik gestattet: Für die angebotene Leistung war sie schlicht und einfach zu teuer (160 EUR/Nacht). Das ist nicht marktkonform! Man kann einen Mehrwert verlangen, um auf der QE2 oder mit Cunard zu reisen. Man sollte diese Marge aber nicht so schamlos überziehen, wie es bei unserer Fahrt geschah.
Bye-Bye QE2 – wir sehen uns wieder, am 06.01.2008 in Southampton und wir werden dich bis zum 13.01.2008 im Auge behalten – aber an Bord der QUEEN VICTORIA 2008 und in Hoffnung, dass es dort nicht so abläuft, wie auf der QE2 in den zwei Tagen!!!
To sum up:We're more disappointed than excited about this trip. NORWEGIAN GEM 2007 is helping us recover from QE2, as it offers the experience we had hoped for on that ship.
Our experience shouldn't discourage us from booking QE2. It's something special, and every true ship lover should experience it for themselves.
Still, we must say: for what we got, QE2 was too expensive (160 EUR/night), which isn't in line with market standards! On QE2 or with Cunard, you can expect added value, but this shouldn't be pushed past reasonable limits, as it was on our trip.
Bye-bye QE2 – see you again on January 6th, 2008, in Southampton, and we'll be keeping an eye on you until January 13th, 2008 – but on board QUEEN VICTORIA 2008, and hoping things won't go as badly as they did on QE2 during those two days!!!
Wie üblich zickt die QUEEN wieder ziemlich rum und ist viel zu früh in Southampton… As usual, the QUEEN is being quite difficult again and is in Southampton far too early…
… überhaupt durch die Lage des QEII-Terminals kommt irgendwie nichts Festliches auf, wie sie es vermutlich verdient hätte… … the location of the QEII terminal somehow prevents it from feeling as festive as it probably deserves…
Hier verlässt sie dann Southampton… From here she leaves Southampton…
… und ich genieße ihre äußere Schönheit, die sie noch pflegt… …and I enjoy her outward beauty, which she still cultivates…
… nur die inneren Werte, wobei nicht die Hardware gemeint ist, stimmen nicht mehr… …only the inner values, not the hardware, are no longer right…
… aber man muss keinen Penny in die Hardware reinstecken, … … but you don't have to invest a single penny in the hardware, …
…, sondern nur einfach an der Einstellung des Managements und der Führungskräfte ändern…… und das in alle Ebenen übertragen.
Mehr Input wäre gar nicht nötig… in meinen Augen!

… und wenn man sowieso auf dich warten muss, bis du abfährst, kann man sich ja noch die anderen Sachen in Southampton angucken:So verdrängst du uns am 06.01.2008, ja. Wir müssen ja mit der QUEEN VICTORIA 2008 zum City-Cruise-Terminal unter das Dach von RCL.

Und warum wird das schönere Mayflower-Terminal eigentlich den anderen überlassen… And why is the more beautiful Mayflower terminal being left to the others…
So gucken wir uns eben noch ein wenig um und entdecken die OCEANA… So we'll just take a bit more look around and discover OCEANA…
… mit der es doch viel mehr Spaß machen würde, in Southampton aus- und einzufahren, weil man die gesamte Stadtfront mitnimmt… … which would make driving in and out of Southampton much more fun, because you take in the entire cityscape…
… und sie daher auch bei gleicher Abfahrtszeit länger braucht, um die gleiche Stelle in Hythe zu passieren… …and therefore, even with the same departure time, it takes longer to pass the same spot in Hythe…
… aber irgendwie wirkt schwarz doch chicer… …but somehow black looks more chic…
… und eleganter… …and more elegant…
Deswegen: So ein weißer „Standardpott“ ist kein Vergleich zur QE2… Therefore: A standard white pot like that is no comparison to the QE2…
Also gute Fahrt – und schön, dass du uns erhalten bleibst und nicht, wie deine Schwestern für MSC oder MCC fahren müssen, vielleicht als weißes Schiff, sondern wirklich in der Art erhalten bleibst.
