Tag/Day 1.3 auf der/on QUEEN MARY 2 in Southampton, England

Da wir ja eine Innenkabine haben, speisen wir im Britannia Restaurant.



As we booked an inside stateroom we ate in Britannia Restaurant.

This was very impressive to us.



Das ist doch sehr beeindruckend.

Es ist einfach ein wow-Erlebnis.



It's just a wow-experience.

This stairs just ended at our table.



Die Treppe führt direkt von unserem Tisch weg.

Es ist ein 6-er-Tisch am Anfang des Restaurants, den wir uns nur einem netten Ehepaar aus Solingen teilen. Sie haben bislang nur AIDA-Erfahrung, so ist es sowohl für uns als auch unseren Kellnern sehr spannend zuzugucken. Ich weiss, dass es unverschämt ist. Aber das ist doch eine größere Umstellung. Unsere Kellner Julian aus Rumänien und Jovan aus Indonesien sind sehr nett. Speziell macht es Spaß Julian bei der Arbeit zuzusehen, weil er auch die Körpersprache sehr gut beherrscht.



It's a table for six at the beginning of the restaurant which we shared with another German couple. They had only experience on German resort-cruises (only self-service / serviced restaurants against fee) so it was for us and our restaurant steward very interesting to see although it was not very nice of us. But it was a major change for them. Our waiters Julian from Romania and Jovan from Indonesia were very nice and friendly. It was really interesting to observe Juian how he works because of his body language.











The dinner was really nice. The only course we did not have was the salad course.



Das Essen war sehr lecker. Nur auf den Salatgang haben wir verzichtet.

Weiter geht es zur Show. Eine "Welcome Aboard"-Show.

Two male solist singers and two female.



Zwei männliche Solisten und zwei weibliche Solisten.

Es macht Spaß denen zuzuhören.



It was really a pleasure to hear them singing.

Six male and six female dancers.



Jeweils sechs männliche und weibliche Tänzer.

Man kam sich vor, wie in Las Vegas.



It was like Las Vegas.

Something for eyes and ears.



Auf jeden Fall etwas für die Augen und Ohren.







































Der 1. Teil schließt mit "Beyond the Sea" (Ich mag es lieber als "La mer") ab.



The first part ended with "Beyond the Sea" (but I like more the original French version "La mer").



Und danach haben Entertainment Director und eine der deutschsprachigen Hostessen kurz uns an Bord begrüßt.



And then the Entertainment Director and one of the German speaking hostess welcomed the guests onboard.

With the Pachebel's Canon she won my heart.

Of course I bought an CD after the show.

But I had the impression I was the only. The problem was that the Germand did not understand her fast announcements. She asked for participation of singing the "Beer Barrel Polka" (which Germans only knows as "Rosamunde"). I am sure that some would tried to sing but without lyrics on the screens it was impossible. Sorry for that.



Ich habe mir natürlich nach der Show eine CD gekauft.

Allerdings war ich wohl der einzige. Das Problem war, dass viele Deutsche ihre schnellen Ansagen nicht verstanden haben. Sie hat beispielsweise zu "Rosamunde" das Publikum aufgefordert mitzusingen. Wären die Texte eingeblendet worden, hätten die Deutschen wohl mitsingen können. Das war ein bisschen schade.

Direkt nach der Show sind wir ins Bett gegangen. Schließlich waren wir ja sehr früh wach, um von Newcastle nach Southampton zu kommen. Wir sind froh, dass sie wohl zuvor meinen Blog gelesen haben und meinem Wunsch folgen und die Uhr bereits heute umzustellen. So können wir schön zum Seetag hin ausschlafen.



Just right after the show we went to bed. We waked up very early to get from Newcastle to Southampton. We were very happy that they obviously read my blog and followed our wish for time change this night and not the night again before debarkation. So we could have a long sleep to the day of sea.
